Dream

Praise be to Allaah.
True dreams are a part of Prophethood, as it was reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “True dreams are one of the forty-six parts of Prophethood.” (al-Bukhaari, 6472; Muslim, 4201)
Dreams marked the onset of Revelation (al-Bukhaari, 3; Muslim, 231).
The truthfulness of the dream is related to the sincerity of the dreamer. Those who have the most truthful dreams are those who are the most truthful in speech. (Muslim, 4200)
Towards the end of time, hardly any dreams will be untrue. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “That will be because the Prophethood and its effects will be so far away in time, so the believers will be given some compensation in the form of dreams which will bring them some good news or will help them to be patient and steadfast in their faith.” (al-Bukhaari, 6499; Muslim, 4200)
The same may be said of the miracles which appeared after the time of the Sahaabah. This did not happen during their time because they did not need them, due to their strong faith, but the people who came after them needed them (the miracles) because their faith was weak.
Dreams are of three types: rahmaani (those that come from Allaah), nafsaani (psychological, they come from within a person) and shaytaani (those that come from the Shaytaan). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Dreams are of three types: a dream from Allaah, a dream which causes distress and which comes from the Shaytaan, and a dream which comes from what a person thinks about when he is awake, and he sees it when he is asleep.” (al-Bukhaari, 6499; Muslim, 4200)
The dreams of the Prophets are wahy (revelation) for they are protected from the Shaytaan. The Ummah is agreed upon this. This is why Ibraaheem set out to fulfil the command of Allaah to sacrifice his son Ismaa’eel when he saw that in a dream; may peace be upon them both.
The dreams of people other than the Prophets are to be examined in the light of the clear Wahy [i.e., the Qur’aan and Sunnah]. If they are in accordance with the Qur’aan and Sunnah, all well and good; otherwise, they should not be acted upon. This is a very serious matter indeed, for many of the innovators among the Sufis and others have gone astray because of this.
Whoever wants to have true dreams should strive to speak honestly, eat halaal food, adhere to the commandments of sharee’ah, avoid that which Allaah and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) have forbidden, sleep in a state of complete purity facing the Qiblah, and remember Allaah until he feels his eyelids drooping. If he does all this, then his dreams can hardly be untrue.
The most truthful of dreams are those that are seen at the time of suhoor [just before dawn], for this is the time when Allaah descends and when mercy and forgiveness are close. It is also the time when the devils are quiet, unlike the time of darkness just after sunset, when the devils and devilish souls spread out.
(See Madaarij al-Saalikeen, 1/50-52)
Al-Haafiz ibn Hajar said:
All dreams are either of two types:
true dreams. These are the dreams of the Prophets and of the righteous people who follow them. They may also happen to other people, but this is very rare, such as the dream of the kaafir king which was interpreted for him by Yoosuf (peace be upon him). True dreams are those which come true in real life as they were seen in the dream.
Mixed up false dreams, which warn of something. These are of different types:
games of the Shaytaan to make a person distressed, such as when he sees his head cut off and he is following it, or he sees himself falling into a crisis and cannot find anyone to save him from it, and so on.
When he sees some of the angels telling him to do something forbidden, or other things that cannot possibly make sense.
When he sees something that happens to him in real life, or he wishes it would happen, and he sees it very realistically in his dream; or he see what usually happens to him when he is awake or what reflects his mood. These dreams usually speak of the future or the present, rarely of the past.
See: Fath al-Baari, 12/352-354
Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “If any one of you sees a dream that he likes, this is from Allaah, so let him praise Allaah for it and talk about it to others. If he sees other than that, a dream that he dislikes, this is from the Shaytaan, so let him seek refuge with Allaah from its evil and not mention it to anyone, for it will not harm him.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6584, and Muslim, 5862).
Abu Qutaadah said: the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Good dreams come from Allaah, and (bad) dreams come from Shaytaan. Whoever sees something that he dislikes, let him spit to his left three times and seek refuge with Allaah from the Shaytaan, for it will not harm him.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6594, and Muslim, 5862). The “spitting” referred to here is a soft, dry spitting with no saliva ejected.
It was reported from Jaabir (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “If any one of you sees a dream that he dislikes, let him spit to his left three times, and seek refuge with Allaah from the Shaytaan three times, and turn over from the side on which he was sleeping.” (Narrated by Muslim, 5864)
Ibn Hajar said: to sum up what has been said about good dreams, we may say three things:
A person should praise Allaah for the good dream
He should feel happy about it
He should talk about it to those whom he loves but not to those whom he dislikes.
To sum up what has been said about bad dreams, we may say four things:
He should seek refuge with Allaah from the evil of the dream
He should seek refuge with Allaah from the evil of the Shaytaan
He should spit to his left three times when he wakes up
He should not mention it to anyone at all.
In al-Bukhaari, Baab al-Qayd fi’l-Manaam, a fifth thing was narrated from Abu Hurayrah, which is to pray. The wording of the report is: whoever sees something he dislikes (in a dream) should not tell anyone about it; rather he should get up and pray. This was reported as a Mawsool report by Imaam Muslim in his Saheeh.
Muslim added a sixth thing, which is to turn over from the side on which one was lying.
In conclusion, there are six things to do, the four mentioned above, plus praying two rak’ahs, for example, and turning over from the side on which one was lying to lie on one’s back, for example.
See Fath al-Baari, 12/370.
According to a hadeeth narrated from Abu Razeen by al-Tirmidhi, he should not tell anybody about it except a very close friend who loves him very much, or who is very wise. According to another report, he should not talk about it except to one who is wise or one who is dear to him. According to another report, he should not tell of his dream except to a scholar or one who will give sincere advice. Al-Qaadi Abu Bakr ibn al-‘Arabi said: as for the scholar, he will interpret it in a good way for him as much as he can, and the one who will give him sincere advice will teach him something that will be of benefit to him and will help him to do that. The one who is wise is the one who knows how to interpret it and will tell him only that which will help him, otherwise he will keep quiet. The one who is dear, if he knows something good he will say it, and if he does not know or he is in doubt, he will keep quiet.
See Fath al-Baari, 12/369
Imaam al-Baghawi said:
Know that the interpretation of dreams falls into various categories. Dreams may be interpreted in the light of the Qur’aan or in the light of the Sunnah, or by means of the proverbs that are current among people, or by names and metaphors, or in terms of opposites. (Sharh al-Sunnah, 12/220)
He gave examples of this, such as:
Interpretation in the light of the Qur’aan: such as a rope meaning a covenant, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allaah…” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:103]
Interpretation in the light of the Sunnah: such as the crow representing an immoral man (faasiq), because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) called it such.
Interpretation by means of proverbs: such a digging a hole meaning a plot, because people say “Whoever digs a hole will fall in it.”
Interpretation by means of names: such as seeing a man called Raashid meaning wisdom.
Interpretation by means of opposites: such as fear meaning safety, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear” [al-Noor 24:55]
As for the book “Interpretation of Dreams” that is attributed to Ibn Seereen, many researchers doubt that it can be attributed to him at all, so we should be certain that this book was written by this prominent scholar.

Ramadan Kareem - Useful Info

The Quran and Hadith on Ramadan

THE QURAN ON FASTING
"O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqun (the pious).
(Fasting) for a fixed number of days, but if any of you is ill or on a journey, the same number (should be made up) from other days. And as for those who can fast with difficulty, (i.e. an old man, etc.), they have (a choice either to fast or) to feed a poor person (for every day). But whoever does good of his own accord, it is better for him. And that you fast, it is better for you if only you know." (2:183-84)
"The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Quran, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong). So whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of) the month (of Ramadan), he must fast that month, and whoever is ill or on a journey, the same number (of days which one did not fast must be made up) from other days.
Allah intends for you ease, and He does not want to make things difficult for you. (He wants that you) must complete the same number (of days), and that you must magnify Allah for having guided you so that you may be grateful to Him" (2: 185).
"It is made lawful for you to have sexual relations with your wives on the night of the fasts. They are garments for you and you are the same for them. Allah knows that you used to deceive yourselves, so He turned to you and forgave you. So now have sexual relations with them and seek that which Allah has ordained for you, and eat and drink until the white thread (light) of dawn appears to you distinct from the black thread (darkness of night), then complete your fast till the nightfall.
And do not have sexual relations with them (your wives) while you are in Itikaf in the mosques. These are the limits (set) by Allah, so approach them not. Thus does Allah make clear His signs to mankind that they may become Al Muttaqun (the pious)" (2:187).
"Verily! We have sent it (this Quran) down in the night of Al-Qadr.
And what will make you know what the night of Al-Qadr is?
The night of Al-Qadr is better than a thousand months
Therein descend the angels and the Ruh (Gabriel) by Allah's Permission with all Decrees,
Peace! until the appearance of dawn (97:1-5)
THE HADITH ON FASTING
Abu Huraira related that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever fasts during Ramadan with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven. Whoever prays during the nights in Ramadan with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven. And he who passes Lailat al-Qadr in prayer with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven (Bukhari, Muslim).
Abu Huraira related that Rasulullah said: If anyone omits his fast even for one day in Ramadan without a concession or without being ill, then if he were to fast for the rest of his life he could not make up for it (Bukhari).
Abu Huraira related that the Prophet said: Allah the Majestic and Exalted said: "Every deed of man will receive ten to 700 times reward, except Siyam (fasting), for it is for Me and I shall reward it (as I like). There are two occasions of joy for one who fasts: one when he breaks the fast and the other when he will meet his Lord" (Muslim).
Abu Huraira related that Rasulullah said: Many people who fast get nothing from their fast except hunger and thirst, and many people who pray at night get nothing from it except wakefulness (Darimi).
When to start fasting
Ibn Umar related that the Prophet said: Do not start fasting unless you see the new moon, and do not end fasting until you see it. If the weather is cloudy then calculate when it should appear (Bukhari, Muslim).
The Suhoor meal (which is eaten before dawn)
Anas related that Rasulullah said: Take the Suhoor meal, for there is blessing in it (Bukhari, Muslim).
Breaking your fast
Salman ibn Amir Dhabi related that the Prophet said: Break your fast with dates, or else with water, for it is pure (Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi).
Fasting during a journey
Aisha related that Rasulullah was asked whether one should fast when on a journey, and he replied: Fast if you like, or postpone it if you like (Bukhari, Muslim).
Behavior while fasting
Abu Huraira related that the Prophet said: If a person does not avoid false talk and false conduct during Siyam, then Allah does not care if he abstains from food and drink (Bukhari, Muslim).
Forgetfully eating or drinking while fasting
Abu Huraira related that Rasulullah said: If anyone forgets that he is fasting and eats or drinks he should complete his Siyam, for it is Allah who has fed him and given him drink (Bukhari, Muslim).
Providing for those who are breaking the fast
Zaid ibn Khalid Juhni related that the Prophet said: He who provides for the breaking of the Siyam of another person earns the same merit as the one who was observing Siyam diminishing in any way the reward of the latter (Tirmidhi).
Lailat al-Qadr
Aisha related that the Prophet said: Look for Lailat al-Qadr on an odd-numbered night during the last ten nights of Ramadan (Bukhari).
Anas ibn Malik related that Rasulullah said: When Lailat al-Qadr comes Gabriel descends with a company of angels who ask for blessings on everyone who is remembering Allah, whether they are sitting or standing (Baihaqi)

LAYLATUL BARAA'AH - NIGHT OF SALVATION

The 15th night of Shabaan is a very blessed night. According to the Hadith Shareef, the name of this Mubarak night is "Nisf Shabaan"which means 15th night of Shabaan. The reason for this special night to attain its name of Laylatul Baraa'ah, meaning the Night of Salvation, Seeking Freedom from Azaab and Calamity, is that in this night the Barkaat and acceptance of repentance may be accomplished. Laylatul Baraa'ah in Persian, as well as in Urdu, is called Shabbe Baraat.

It is the night of seeking pardon and repenting to Almighty Allah, remembering our past sins and sincerely settling the mind that one will never commits sins in the future. All the deeds that are against Shari'ah must be totally avoided so that our Du'a and Istighfaar, hopefully, will be accepted. Muslims should check themselves and A'la Hazrat, Imam Ahmed Raza Bareilvi (radi Allahu anhu) has given a beautiful advise in this regard. This great Imam said: "Verily the auspicious night of Shabbe Baraa'a is drawing near when the deeds of the slave will be presented to the Almighty Allah. I humbly supplicate in the Darbar-e-Aqdas of the Almighty Allah that through the Wasila-e-Uzma of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) He forgives the sins and transgressions of all Muslims. Aameen.

"On this occasion, it should be the duty of all Sunni Muslims to forgive one another and to make sure that whatever debts owed to one another is settled. The importance of Huqooq-ul-Ibaad cannot be over-emphasised as this is among the pre-requisites for proper Ibaadat. I pray that all Muslims humbly remember this night and try as much as possible to perform Ibaadat and other pious deeds so that their Record of Deeds be presented in all dignity.

"Finally, I pray that the Almighty Allah assists you and I and the Muslim Ummah wherever you may be. Muslims should be aware of sincerity and honesty in all their deeds. May Almighty Allah forgive all of us. Aameen." Faqeer Ahmed Raza Qaaderi (may Allah forgive him)

HOW TO WELCOME THIS NIGHT
On this auspicious night, you should perform fresh Ghusal and Wudhu and perform the two Rakaat of Tahhiyatul Wudhu. In every Rakaat, after the Suratul Fatiha, you should read Ayatul Kursi once and Surah Ahad three times. Also perform eight Rakaats of Salaah with four Salaams. In each Rakaat after the Surah Fatiha, you should read the Ayatul Kursi (once) and Surah Ahad fifty times.

WHAT TO RECITE IMMEDIATELY AFTER SUNSET
After sunset, you should recite "La Hawla walaa Quwwata illa Billahil-aliyil Azeem" forty times with three times Durood Shareef before and after. It is mentioned that by reciting this, Almighty Allah will forgive forty years of your sins and forty Hoors will await to serve you in Jannatul Firdous.

COUNTLESS MERCIES
Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) has stated: "Verily! Almighty Allah directs His Special Grace on the world on this Night. He forgives my Ummah more than the number of wool that is found on the sheep of the Bani Kalb". We should remember that in those days the Bani Kalb possessed the most number of sheep that any other tribe.

How great is the Mercy of Almighty Allah on this night that He forgives millions of Muslims. We also realise from this that these numbers can only pertain to the Ahle Sunnah Wa Jamaah collectively, for the righteous followers of the Hanafi, Shaafi'i, Maaliki and Hambali indeed number millions of Muslims.

THE VISITORS OF THIS NIGHT
It is narrated that the departed souls (Arwaah) of the Muslims visit the houses of their friends and relatives on this night and proclaim: "O people of the house! You stay in our houses and enjoy the wealth that we have left behind. You use our children and take work from them, please perform our Esaale Sawaab. Verily our deeds have become complete, while your record of deeds is still spread".

If the people of the house perform the Esaale Sawaab and Khatam Shareef on this night, then the Arwaah depart will the Sawaab extremely happy and overjoyed all the time making Du'a for the people.

VISIT TO THE CEMETERY
Hazrat Ayesha Siddiqa (radi Allahu anha) reports: "One night, which was the 15th of Shabaan, I did not find the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) in the house so I went in search of him. After a long search, I found him in Baqiah (the cemetery of Madinah) offering Du'a for the deceased and praying for their forgiveness". (Baihaqi)

A special point must be made to visit the cemetery during this night and pray for the deceased buried therein, as the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) is been reported as having visited the cemetery on this night and spending a long time therein, lamenting, reading and praying for the deceased.

TO KEEP FAST
According to the Hadith Shareef which is narrated by Ibne Habaan (radi Allahu anhu) that Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said: "When the night of 15th Shabaan arrives spend the night awake and keep fast the next day".

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) reports that the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said often in his Khutba (sermon): "O people! Lighten and cleanse your bodies by way of fasting during Shabaan, so that it shall be easy and helpful to you for the fast during Ramadaan. Whoso fasts for three days during Shabaan, all his past sins are wiped off". (Baihaqi) Fasting is also recommended on the 13th, 14th and 15th of Shabaan.

HOW TO SPEND THE NIGHT
On this night, perform Nawaafil, recite the Quran Shareef, recite abundant Durood Shareef, Istighfaar and Kalima Tayyibah. It is also mentioned that if one reads Surah Dukhaan seven times on this night, Almighty Allah will reward you with 70 worldly needs and 70 deeds for the Hereafter.

DO NOT BE AMONGST THOSE DEPRIVED OF MERCY
Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said: "Almighty Allah forgives all Muslims on this night, besides the fortune tellers, the magicians, the alcoholics, those who disrespect their parents and those who take part and encourage adultery".

In another narration, the following people have also been mentioned:

1. One who deals in usury (Riba),

2. One who wears his trousers below his ankle with pride and arrogance (In Arabia, people displayed their wealth and boasted in this manner),

3. One who creates disunity among two Muslims,

4. The person who unjustly takes away the right and property of another Muslim and has not yet rectified himself.

All these persons are not shown Mercy on this auspicious Night.

A HUMBLE APPEAL TO SEEK PARDON AND ASK ALLAH'S FORGIVENESS
Dear Muslim brothers, the Bountiful Allah in His Infinite Mercy has provided us with such an auspicious night so that we may take advantage of it and repent for our sins, and thus obtain His Grace and Favour. It is for us to take full advantage of it. During this night, offer special prayers and repent sincerely for our past sins and ask for His Forgiveness.

Also on this night the Doors of Mercy and Forgiveness are opened wide, and those who sincerely grieve over and repent for their past sins and seek forgiveness from Allah are pardoned and forgiven by the Grace of Allah the Merciful.

Each Tasbih or Du'a should begin and terminate with the recital of Durood Shareef and one who wishes for the acceptance of his Du'as should use the Wasila of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam).

Hazrat Ghousul Azam, Sheikh Abdul Qaadir Jilani (radi Allahu anhu) has mentioned in his famous "Gunyat-ut Taalibeen" that the month of Shabaan according to some narrations is related to Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam). So, it is our duty, as the Ummat of Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) to love and respect this month more than any other month (besides Ramadaan). We should also offer abundantly salutations (Salaat-o-Salaam) upon the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam).

While we are praying and asking for ourselves and family, we should also remember in our Du'as the Muslim Ummah facing calamities in many parts of the world, that may Allah Ta'ala grant them the strength and Istiqaamat (steadfastness) in Deen. Those weak Muslims who are under pressure from the West and modernisation, may Allah Ta'ala guide them and show them the right path so that they be in touch with their glorious past. Aameen. May Almighty Allah guide us on the path of the Ambiya and the Awliya. Aameen.

If the person who reads Nafil in such a way dies until the next Shabaan, will die with Imaan, Insha-Allah.

The performing of Salaatul Tasbeeh on this night is also very virtuous.

THE SPECIAL SIGNIFICANCE OF THE MONTH SHA'BAN AND THE DIVINE FORGIVENESS SENT DOWN IN THIS MONTH.
Allah's beloved prophet hadrat MUHAMMAD{peace be upon him}said: "Sha'ban is my month,Rajab is Allah's month and Ramadan is the month of my Ummah[Community]

Sha'ban is expiator, while Ramadan is the prufier." Sha'ban is a month between Rajab and Ramadan.People tend to neglcet it,but that is when the deeds of His servants ascend to  the Lord of all the Worlds,so I would rather mine rose up while i am fasting."

" The excellence of Rajab over other months is like the excellence of the Quran over all other books, while the excellence ofSha'ban over other months is like my excellence over the rest of the prophets, and the excellence of Ramadan over other months is like the excellence of Allah[Exalted is He]over all His creatures.
FASTING OF HADRAT MUHAMMAD{peace be upon him}IN THE MONTH OF SHA'BAN
Hadrat Aisha, the wife of our prophet hadrat MUHAMMAD{peace be upon him}is reported, having said: "Allah's Messenger{peace be upon him}used to fast until we would say he was never going to stop fasting, and he would go so long without fasting thet we would say he was never going to fast, but i never saw Allah's Messenger{peace be upon him}continue a fast from the begning to the end of any month except the month of Ramadan and i never saw do more fasting in any month than he did in Sha'ban .So i a sked him "how is it i always see you fasting in Sha'ban?" and he{peace be upon him}said: "O' Aisha,it is the month in which the angel of death has to note down the name of anyone whose soul he must take before the year is out,so i would rather he did not record my name except while i am fasting." Hadrat Aisha{may Allah be pleased with her}said: " The dearest of months to our Prophet hadrat MUHAMMAD{peace be upon him} was Sha'ban, which he would link to Ramadan."

LAST MONDAY OF SHA'BAN.

Allah's beloved hadrat MUHAMMAD{peace be upon him}said: "Anyone who fasts on the last monday of Sha'ban will be granted forgiveness."
LAILAT-UL-BARA'T{THE NIGHT OF ABSOLUTION},ITS SPECIAL MERCY,GRACE AND MERITS.
Allah almighty said:" Ha-Mim.By this luminous Book. Undoubtedly we sent it down in a blessed night verily We are to warn.Therein every affair of wisdom is divided.[44:1-3] Hadrat Ibn-e- Abbas{may Allah be pleased with him}said,"Ha-Mim means that Allah has predetermined everything in existance till the day of Resurrection. Book means AL-QURAN,which is a mercy from Allah and provid guidance and was revealed in "blessed night".The 'blessed night' is the night of mid-Sha'ban in which every wise and important work is decided and is made distinct. Mid of Sha'ban is the night of absolution."
THE SPECIAL [IBADA] WORSHIP OF OUR PROPHET HADRAT MUHAMMAD{peace be upon him}IN THIS BLESSED NIGHT.

Hadrat Aisha{may Allah be pleased with her}said, once Allah's Messenger{peace be upon him}asked me, "O Aisha, what night is this?"She replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best."Then he said: This is the night of the middle of Sha'ban ,during which worldly actions and the deeds of mankind are carried aloft. In this night as numerous as the wool of the flocks of the tribe of Kalb, are the slaves of Allah, emancipated from the fire of hell. So will you excuse me tonight?" She said :" I said yes,So he performed his prayer like this : He held the upright position only briefly, and recited AL-Hamd and a short Sura then he stayed in prostration till middle of night .then he stood upto begin the second rak'at[cycle] with a recitation similar to the first, and then his prostration lasted untill dawn."
OUR PROPHET{peace be upon him} WENT TO JANNA-TUL-BAQQI [the blessed cemetry of the city of Madinah-tul-Munwwara].

Hadrat Aisha{may Allah be pleased with her}once said: " I could not find Allah's Messenger{peace be upon him}one night,So i went outside there he was in Jannat-ul-baqqi{the blessed cemetry},his hand turned up toward the sky. Then he said to me: 'Were you afraid that Allah and His Messenger would treat you unfairly?' I replied: 'O Messenger of Allah, I thought that you had gone to one of your[other] wives.'He{peace be upon him}said:' On the night of mid-Sha'ban,Allah{Exalted is He} descends to the lowest heaven and forgives more than the number of woolly hairs on the flocks and herds of [the tribe of Kalb]."

Hadrat Ibn-e-Abbas
{may Allah be pleased with him and his father}said: "In the night of mid Sha'ban ,Allah[Exalted is He] arranges the affairs of the year.He transfers[some of] the living to the list of dead, and records those who will make pilgrimage to the house of Allah, neither adding one too many nor leaving a single one of them out."
THREE HUNDRED GATES OF MERCY ARE OPENED IN THE NIGHT OF MID SHA'BAN
Hadrat Abu Huraira{may Allah be pleased with him}reported that Rasullullah{salallahu alaihi wassallam}said: "Gabriel {peace be upon him}came to me on the night of mid Sha'ban and said to me:"Ya RasulAllah, raise your head heavenwards!" I asked him: "What night is this?"and he replied: "This is night when Allah{Glorified is He}opens three hundred of the gates of mercy, forgiving all who do not make anything His partner. The only exceptions are those who practice sorcery or divination, are addicted to wine,or persist in usuary and illict sex; these He does not forgive untill they repent." At a quarter of the night, Gabriel {peace be upon him}came down and said: Ya RasulAllah , raise your head!" So i looked up,to behold the gates of Paaradise wide open.At the first gate an angel was calling: "Good news for those who bow in worship this night!" At the second gate an angel was calling: Good news for those who prostrate themselves in worship this night!" At the third gate an angel was calling: "Good news for those who offer supplication this night!" At the fourth gate an angel was calling: "Good news for those who make remembrance this night!"At the fifth gate an angel was calling: "Good news for those who weep this night from the fear of Allah!" At the sixth gate an angel was calling:"Good news for those who submit this night!" At the seventh gate an angel was calling: "Will anyone ask, that his request may be granted ?" At the eight gate an angel was calling :"Will anyone seeks forgiveness, that he may be forgiven?" Rasullullah{salsllahu alaihi wassallam}said:"O Gabriel, how long will these gates remain open?" He replied: From the beginning of the night until the break of dawn." Then he said: "Ya rasulAllah , tonight Allah has as many slaves emancipated from the fire of hell as the number of wooly hairs on the flocks and herds of tribe Kalb."

MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN ISLAM!

You read the blessings and mercy of this month. How fortunate is this month that our Prophet{peace be upon him} said that THIS IS MY MONTH,this is the blessed month in which our Prophet{peace be upon him}used to fastmore than any month except Ramadan. In the mid of this blessed month,he{peace be upon him}spent the  whole  night in worshiping of Allah subhanahu ta'ala. He remained in prostration the half night for the maghfirah [forgiveness] of his Ummah. Not only he prayed for his ummah but also he went himself to the blessed cemetry of Janna-tul-Baqqi in Madinah Munawwara and he prayed for maghfirah[forgiveness] for the dead of his Ummah. And he fasted the fifteenth day of Sha'ban. How fortunate are those who worship and seek forgiveness from Allah subhanahu ta'ala and are forgiven.Instead of sleeping in this blessed nitht, spend this night in worshiping, weeping, asking for forgiveness for the whole muslim ummah, reciting Quran, reciting SALAT and SALAM upon Allah's beloved Prophet hadrat MUHAMMAD{peace be upon him}as many times as we can, as this the month of Allah's beloved Prophet{peace be upon him}. Allah subhanahu ta'ala is watching us,it is up to us what we decide.

DUA and Zikr - Part 6

"DUA IS THE WEAPON OF THE BELIEVER (mumin)," says RasulAllah! Are we really aware why it is so important to practice "DUA?"
What is "DUA" and what is it for? As there is no god-out-there, beyond yourself, then to whom do you pray (practice dua)? Let us try to answer those questions now...
"Dua" is an action of directing brain waves!
Let us recall some of the information we had given earlier in our previous pages ...
Human, in respect to its "reality," (haqiqat) is a content composed of Names that belonged to ALLAH... That is, human is like a formula composed of meanings that the Beautiful Names of ALLAH carry. To express it in a different way, ALLAH has rendered human as a kaliph of Himself on earth by means of making him exist via the meanings of Hu's Beautiful Names.
After various transformations, those meanings of Names have been unfolded in the human brain in a form as it was ordained.
According to the statement (
hukm) that "You cannot will except by the will of ALLAH," your DUA (prayer) in reality is nothing but a wish belonging to ALLAH.
However, there is a SYSTEM and ORDER by ALLAH, known as "sunnatAllah." Here, such a wish originated from the Beautiful Names of ALLAH is sometimes revealed as a "DUA" from within yourself.

Although it is commonly believed under the influence materialistic view that people could communicate with each other only by the agency of their lips and ears, communication is, in fact, a interaction between brains. There are so many times that we sense, perceive such a relation but cannot explain it logically due to lack of knowledge. Your "intuition" is a result of your early perception of incoming waves...
"DUA" arises from the Names of ALLAH (asma-uAllah) that is within your own essence and reveals as a wave directed for a purpose and reaches the aim. So, "DUA" is not a demand from a god outside yourself, but rather is a wish originated by "ALLAH" in your essence.
In another way of looking, "DUA" is the most powerful weapon for achieving your expectations. It is an appreciation of the power and potency belonging to "ALLAH" within your own essence.
You will pray, practice
"dua," so then you will direct the course of events, if that resided in your destiny. In fact, it is Hu's self who directs, not you!
The same way as the parasite signals are reduced when the earth's semi-sphere turned back on the sun and short wave reception becomes powerful, human brain also becomes more sensitive and most powerful especially during midnight at late hours. This is the case both for reception (inspiration) and transmission (dua- praying). The importance of night time is particularly due to this fact in the "Deen-i Islam."

People lacking the practice
dua, will suffer the detriment of both the appreciation and the potencies within their own essence and also the benefits resulting from praying. DUA is an exercise of the power belonged to "ALLAH" within your own essence.
The fact that RasulAllah has prayed so often does not mean that he has asked for things from a god outside himself, but instead it shows that he has channeled the power and potency within himself that belongs to ALLAH, in the direction of his wishes.

The more a person's brain capability is powerful, the more one's prayers (dua) and brain transmission are effective... You broadcast all your thoughts over the earth to the degree that your brain power allows, not only at times when you are communicating, but while you are thinking as well. And those frequencies are received by other corresponding receptive brains and are assessed as intuition or inspiration. It is in that respect that some of the effectual (authoritative) "spiritual people," known as "irshad qutubs" in Sufism exercise power of disposal. What is known as reaching "enlightenment" (al faydh) is nothing other than a brain's assisted revelation after another powerful brain's transmission of directed waves. We have given detailed information about that in our book "DUA and ZIKR" which I strongly recommend you to read!..
In this chapter, we have tried to make you realize that "DUA" is one of the most effective tools in human's life. Let us know that "ALLAH" will respond you from within yourself. Hu's being aware of everything in your mind, is a result of your being brought into existence through Hu's own being and of Hu's revealing those that income from Hu through yourself.
Every person must continuously keep practicing "DUA," and prayers at whatever spiritual state or level of awareness one is at, as RasulAllah did. It will be known more clearly in the life beyond death that nothing would have brought better income than one's "DUA" and prayers.
May ALLAH make us realize the importance of "DUA," appreciate it in our lifetimes as much as possible and therefore empower our "spirits." And... May ALLAH make all these easy for us!

ZIKR- Part 4

is a practice of repeating the words which carry certain meanings, in the brain. It is not bound by time, place or belief.
For the first time ever in Turkey as well as in the world, we have explained in our book

"Mysteries of Man," published in 1986, that ZIKR is a SYSTEM of practice to increase the activity of cellular groups in the brain parallel to the meanings of words given in a list. Further explanation is available in more details in our book "DUA and ZIKR" and also in "Mohammed's ALLAH."
Parallel laboratory findings which described that practicing ZIKR, namely the repetitions of nouns in the brain, increases neural activity while engaging new areas and neural groups in the brain, were published first time in 1993 in an article in December 1993 issue of the "Scientific American." The findings were conclusions of long years of intensive laboratory experiments described in this article. It concluded that: "When a person reads a new learned noun or repeats a given word, different regions and dormant neural groups of the brain engages and becomes active, so that the working capacity of the brain is increased."

Repeating in mind the given Names of Allah systematically at certain numbers for a period of time simultaneously increases your brain's capacity. Thereupon you improve your personality in the area of that given Name.
It does not matter whether you are a believer or not! Because, this is the SYSTEM and the ORDER of ALLAH. The operatives of the SYSTEM and ORDER of ALLAH have no dependence on anyone's belief.
The greatest reason for misunderstanding that matter lays in the fact that you were unaware of yourself as being a formula composed of the meanings of the Beautiful Names of ALLAH. In addition, you wrongfully presumed that you are required to practice "ibadat" in connection with a god-afar-off-yourself!
However, the Attainers of Truth, all from Ahmed Yasewi, to Yunus Emre, Abdulkadir Geylani, Imam Ghazali, Hadji Bektashi Wali, Ibrahim Hakki of Erzurum, Mewlana Jelaluddin, have drawn people's attention to the fact that "ALLAH" is within the Reality of man and have mentioned the necessity of turning toward "ALLAH" in your core and of discovering Hu within your own being, instead of turning toward a god-afar-off-yourself...
As a matter of fact, ZIKR is not for pleasing a god-afar-off-yourself, but for knowing "ALLAH" within your own essence by means of increasing your brain power parallel to your understanding and comprehension skills. As a result, it is to promote the unfoldment of meanings of those Beautiful Names efficiently within yourself and to experience the "mystery of caliphate" living...

BRAIN AND "ZIKR" - Part 3

Both DUA (praying) and ZIKR (meditation with ALLAH Names) are some practices aimed for widening the brain's dynamic capacity and enabling (facilitating) it to express qualities and potency which are laid dormant in itself, that such qualities were bestowed by ALLAH. In addition, through such practices, a person constructs his own afterlife body...
You were brought to being with the Beautiful Names of ALLAH and within the Science (awareness) of Hu. Therefore, the meanings that the Names of ALLAH indicated are unfolded (revealed) in your brain as your characteristics. When you constantly repeat the Beautiful Names of ALLAH in your mind, you promote your brain to reveal better the meanings corresponding to these Names and the capabilities such Names indicated.
For instance, when you repeat the Name "Mureed" that is the ALLAH's attribute of "WILL," certain number of times, say three thousand times a day, you will soon notice your will power improving. You will be surprised to find out your efficiency in accomplishing most of the things without great exertion, which you used to fail before because of weakness in your will power.
If you repeat the ALLAH's Name "Quddus" in addition to "Mureed" same number of times every day, besides practicing the dua "kuddus'ut takhiru min kulle suin" three hundred to five hundred times a day, you will simply quit smoking, drinking or drug addiction without any exertion... You may ask if this is for real or if they are really helpful! Try and see it for yourself! Just keep practicing them continuously for a few months. You will then see the results even if you do not have any belief of their help.
Because, this event of practicing ZIKR is completely a technical process; therefore, acquiring its benefits is not dependent on one's belief. We have observed it in countless number of experiments...
So many people quitted their habits easily after they began practicing ZIKR as we suggested and kept practicing continuously even while enjoying their drinks in bars, just for the sake of trying and without any belief in our words...

SPIRITUAL PRACTICES- 2 Part

All the practices known as ibadat, which were passed onto us through the Rasul, are completely based on scientific realities. They are never aimed at pleasing the heart's desire of a god off in the heights above, afar off (beyond) us. Allah, who made the universe existent out of nothing, is not in need of any one's practice. Just like the food you take are aimed at supplying your physical body's needs, the practices called as ibadat (prayers) are related to the needs of your life beyond death. They are related to the "knowledge" and "energy" that your brain power records onto your, in a way a luminous body of frequencies, that is your spirit.
The practices that are carried out can be divided into two as physical and mental within the context of their benefits. Benefits gained physically empower mental activities and subsequently expand the brain capacity, and thus empower the person's spirit.
Constant repetition of words, a practice known as "zikr," makes you realize the universal qualities, that are the meanings of ALLAH names, which existed holographically in your own being, through expanding your brain capacity. It increases brain capacity and energy. For instance, the repetition of the word "Mureed" in a certain number of times a day, which is the Name of Allah's quality of being "will," increases the person's will-power. The repetition of the name "Quddus" in addition to the name "Mureed," results in a person quitting all sorts of his malicious habits. High tempered, rowdy, heart-breaking, excessive people lacking in self-control and persons of a nervous (tense, irritable) temper dissolve to a tolerant character shortly after they start repeating the Name "Haliym." All these come true as brain cells are programmed in corresponding frequencies produced in the brain. This fact was scientifically proved as a laboratory experiment recently and it was published in an article with the signature of John Horgan in the December 1993 issue of "The Scientific American".
The more a person's brain capacity is increased, the better he realizes and knows ALLAH as being the truth of the attributes that unfold through himself.
"ALLAH" is not a god afar off, but is the name of the Limitless One (Akbar) who brought everything into existence from within Hu's own being, WITHIN Hu's own knowledge (ilm) through Hu's knowledge, while there existed nothing. In the hologram system, Hu exists fully in every particle; put in Sufi (Tasawwuf) terms, "Hu exists in every point with all Hu's Attributes (Sifat), Names (Asma) and Hu's Essence (Zhat)."
At the extent we could broaden our brain capacity by way of carrying out practices on this path, we will realize and find ALLAH within our own beings, and attain Hu within ourselves...

Zikr Practice- Part 1

Zikr" is not a way of mentioning or worshipping a god out-there, but is a way of unfolding the qualities within us which belong to Haqq in origin. When we are praying, we are not asking help from a god afar off, but we are manifesting the qualities from within ourselves which belonged to Allah in origin.
Whether you believe or not, when you practice zikr regularly for a period of time, its benefits will manifest automatically before long and you will observe the changes in your life. Because, the repetition of zikr words increases neural activity in the brain and new areas and additional neural groups are put to action and the results manifest simultaneously in your daily life . When the zikr is practiced, different regions and dormant neural groups of the brain engages and becomes active, so THE WORKING CAPACITY OF THE BRAIN INCREASES.
Here is a list of zikr suggested by Author Ahmed Hulusi for everyone to be practiced regularly on a daily basis. You will be able to observe its benefits in your life in about three months by the latest.

The "Deen" did not come to establish sovereignty over the earth but to establish sovereignty over life beyond death. Or as Hazrat ISA (Jesus) put it, "to reach the Kingdom of Heavens." This is only possible for a person if he comes to enter within his own reality.
No doubt, it is our brains that will enable us to attain such a consciousness.
The higher the level we use our brains and appreciate, the more the benefits we attain.
At that degree we will have an ability to think comprehensively, reach an objective point of view, reinforce our spiritual power and reach a broader capacity to know "ALLAH."
But how will we be able to improve (develop) our brains?
As we have already discussed it in our book entitled "DUA and ZIKR" broadly, this can be achieved through the practice known as "ZIKR!"
The only key for a person to reach all this is "ZIKR."
As a detailed information of its mechanism is already available in our book entitled "MYSTERIES OF HUMAN," now, I will give only a brief summary of it.
We can understand "Zikr" simply as the repetition of particular names of "ALLAH" or as the recitation of some prayers.
In the second sense, "Zikr" refers to remembering, mentioning and meditating.
In a superior dimension "zikr" is known as persisting, dwelling on a subject to the point of its full comprehension and meditating on it.
A few of the signs on the importance of zikr in the Quran are as follows:
"Believers, let neither your riches nor your children beguile you of ALLAH's ZIKR! Whoever does that, these are the losers!" (63:9)
"You gave them and their fathers the good things so much that they did not think about your warnings and acted heedlessly and they finally forgot ZIKR and thus incurred destruction!"
(25:18)
"Whoever turns himself from the ZIKR of RAHMAN (The Beneficent) shall have a devil (jinn) for his companion. Devil turns them away from the right path, though they may THINK themselves rightly guided!"
(43:36-37)
"Satan (jinn) has gained the mastery over them so he has made them forget ZIKR of ALLAH! They are the confederates of Satan! Satan's confederates will assuredly be lost.

" (58:19)
A major negligence of ours is the fact that most of us do not practice zikr at all. The brains which lack the power of zikr are indeed easily influenced by the jinni.

That is to say, the phenomenon known as the Satan's obsession is a matter of a greater importance in areas than thought.
The Quran informs that the MAJORITY of human beings are under the domination of jinni as in the following sign:
"Jinn, you have seduced mankind BY A LARGE MAJORITY!"
(6:128)
Zikr

is mankind's unique defense arm against the influences from the jinni who, in our day, present themselves as "aliens," or "extraterrestrial beings" and are commonly recognized as UFO!
The Quran teaches us the prayer of safeguard to recite against them:

"Rabbi `annii massaniyash Shaytanu binusbin wa `adhab. Rabbi `a-'auuzu biqa min hamazaatish shaayatiini Wa `a'-uuzu biqa Rabbi any-yakhzuruun. Wa khifzam-min kulli Shaytaanim-maarid "
(Saad:41, Mu'minun: 97-98, Saffat:7)
Zikr

and dua (recital of prayers) are man's unique self-defense arms against the jinn who always keep close to cigarette smokers as CIGARETTE smoke is one of their major nutrients.
Nevertheless, if a person produces a defensive magnetic zone around himself through his brain by way of prayers' recital and zikr, he can partly weaken the impulses sent by the jinni and even completely avoid them.

Because, one of the benefits gained through zikr is that a protective area forms around the working person through his brain's transmission in relation with the content of zikr words he meditates.
Of course, it should be the main goal for every human to know himself as well as his surrounding by improving his brain by way of zikr. Because, there exists such superior potentials in our brains that one cannot even imagine. If only we could take advantage of them!
One can understand the nature of human and the existence, their system of operation, and the qualities within human as well as the way to appreciate those qualities only by way of KNOWLEDGE and ZIKR. And all these are attained only after the complementary zikr practices are achieved.

Solar And Sun Eclipses in Islam-

1. The Sun and Moon Eclipse as a Sign from Allah (SWT).

Narrated Abu Bakra (RA): We were with Allah's Apostle (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) when the sun eclipsed. Allah's Apostle (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) stood up dragging his cloak till he entered the Mosque. He led us in a two-Rakat prayer till the sun (eclipse) had cleared. Then the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of someone's death. So whenever you see these eclipses pray and invoke (Allah) till the eclipse is over." [Bukhari]

2. Solar or Lunar eclipse has nothing to do with someone’s birth or death.

Narrated Al-Mughira bin Shu'ba: "The sun eclipsed in the life-time of Allah's Apostle (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) on the day when (his son) Ibrahim died. So the people said that the sun had eclipsed because of the death of Ibrahim. Allah's Apostle (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of the death or life (i.e. birth) of some-one. When you see the eclipse pray and invoke Allah." [Bukhari]

3. In the event of Solar or Lunar eclipse the believers should be mindful of Akhira & turn towards Allah (SWT) and pray.

Narrated Abu Bakra (RA) In the life-time of the Allah's Apostle (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) the sun eclipsed and he went out dragging his clothes till he reached the Mosque. The people gathered around him and he led them and offered two Rakat. When the sun (eclipse) cleared, he said, "The sun and the moon are two signs amongst the signs of Allah; they do not eclipse because of the death of someone, and so when an eclipse occurs, pray and invoke Allah till the eclipse is over." It happened that a son of the Prophet called Ibrahim died on that day and the people were talking about that (saying that the eclipse was caused by his death). [Bukhari]

4. The prayer for Solar Eclipse is with congregation .

[Bukhari]

5. Ulama have stated that only eclipse occurred in the lifetime of Rasul-ullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) and it was Solar.

6. This congregational Solar eclipse is Two Rakaah similar to any other Two Rakaah Salah in the Madhab of Imam Abu Haneefa (RA).

Nauman Ibn Bashir (RA) said that the Prophet (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam) prayed the Salatul-Khusoof with us like one of your Salahs. He went into Ruku and performed the Sajdah, praying two Rakaats two Rakaats with two Rukuhs and supplicated to Allah (SWT) until the sun clearly reappeared. [Abi Dawud]

Note: As previously stated that there was only one Solar Eclipse (i.e. one congregational Salah) during the lifetime of Prophet (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam), however many narrations are found and in some Two Ruku are mentioned (per Rakaah), however according to Scholars in the Hanafi Madhab the most Authentic way is to have one Ruku per Rakaah. Imam Shaf’ae (RA) and others have differed on the matter.

6. Imam can do the recitation loudly or silently.

Note: The opinion of Imam Abu Haneefa is to recite silently but Imam Abu Yusuf (RA) says that the recitation should be done loudly and Imam Muhammad (RA) has recorded both opinions. [Tuhfatul-Fuqaha]

7. Salah should be lengthened until the eclipse is finished.

Note: There is no disagreement on the matter, however if Imam finishes the Salah early then Muslims should still remain engaged in the remembrance of Allah (SWT).

8. Salah for Lunar Eclipse should be prayed individually and not with congregation.

Note: This is the Madhab of Imam Abu Haneefa (RA) and there are many reasons for this position:

1) There is no evidence from Prophet (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam) of congregational Lunar Eclipse Salah.

2) The Hadeeth of Saheeh Bukhari (step 1) mentions praying but doesn’t stipulate prayer with congregation.

3) Imposing congregational Salah of Lunar Eclipse on people will be undue hardship as it occurs in the Night.

Imam Shaf’ae (RA) has however differed on the matter and his given the evidence from the Sahaba (RA) as follows:

Imam Hasan Al-Basari (RA) narrates that when Abdullah Ibn Abbas (RA) was the Ameer of Basrah the moon was eclipsed. Therefore he came into the Masjid and lead people in two Rakaat Salah and in each Salah he performed two Rukuhs and said, “I have performed it the same way as I saw Prophet (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam) perform his prayer” [Musnad Imam Shaf’ae (RA)]

9. Khutbah is neither obligatory nor part of Salah.

Note: Hanafi, Maliki and Hanbali Ulama agree that Khutbah given on this occasion by Allah's Apostle (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) was to eradicate the thought in people's mind that the sun had eclipsed due to the death (of Rasul-ullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) 's son) and to establish that Eclipse is a sign of Allah (SWT) and does not occur due to someone's birth or death, therefore Khutbah is neither an obligation nor part of Salah (like Jummuah Salah, Eid Salah) etc. Imam Shaf'ae (RA) however differs on the matter. [Fiqh Alal- Madhahib Arb'a]

Seyyid Mohammed Shareeful Madani(RA) Ullal --Mangalore

TOMB OF SEYYID MADANI ULLAL

Ullal Darga

The Darga to commemorate Seyyid Mohammed Shareeful Madani, located in Ullal in South Kanara, has been drawing pilgrims from all faiths. Legend has it that about 400 years ago, Seyyid Muhammed Shareeful Madani came to Mangalore from Saudi Arabia, reaching the shores of Ullal by floating on a piece of cloth. He camped in a small mosque at Melangadi in Ullal village where he led a simple life showering his love on the poor. People from Ullal, Pemannur and neighboring villages of Someshwar, Munnur, Kotekar and Jeppinamogaru consider this as the central Jumma Masjid. He became famous among the villagers because of his kindness and his treatment of the sick through prayers.
Many miracles have been credited to this saint and to this day, people from all communities come to Ullal mosque to seek his blessings. There are many stories that are associated with Madani miraculous powers. One day his landlord took away the tender coconuts which belonged to the Madani. Later the landlord came back with severe stomach ache. Always forgiving, the Madani offered him a glass of water and the landlord was relieved of the pain. In gratitude, the landlord presented the house to the Madani and even today the descendents of the Madani live here.
The villagers once saw the Madani throwing water high above him in upward direction. When they questioned him, he told them that there was a fire in the distant mosque at Mecca and that he was extinguishing the fire. That particular year, pilgrims who returned from Mecca confirmed that there had indeed been a fire in the mosque and that some miraculous showers extinguished it.
A tomb was raised over the Madani's grave after his death and the miracles continued. Many dumb people got their voices back and thousands of people were blessed with happiness.
Another story says that a painter who was Christian made a vow at the darga that if by the blessing of the Madani, he found two gold necklaces which were lost two years back, he would make offerings at the darga. The very next day, he found the necklaces around the neck of a woman in a neighboring town In 1945, when Uroos was being organized in the Darga, the village was suffering from acute water scarcity, thousands had thronged the village for the Uroos celebrations and all of them were suffering in the heat.
The Seyyid Madani Darga observes Uroos once in five years which attracts pilgrims from all over the country and it has earned the name of Ajmer Darga of the south.

How to reach..

India:
Located about 10 kms south of Mangalore from the heart of the city, the darga is easily accessible by buses, auto-rickshaws ans taxis.

Beauty of Prophet (S.A.S)- A guide

The physical beauty of the Prophet (saas)
The companions of the Prophet (saas) have passed on a great many detail about him, from the beauty of that blessed individual's external appearance, his radiance and disposition that left those who beheld him in awe, to his smile, and many other beautiful aspects that Allah had manifested in him. There were a fair number of such companions, and they have given many details of his great beauty. Those Muslims who lived at the same time as the Prophet (saas) have described many aspects of the servant of Allah. While some of those describe him in broad terms, others have given long and detailed descriptions. Some of these accounts are as follows:

The Prophet (saas)'s external appearance and beauty
His companions described the beauty of the Prophet (saas) in these terms:
"The Prophet (saas) had a most handsome constitution. Some gave the smile of his beauty to that of the full moon...His nose was thin... His face was smooth...His beard was thick...His neck was the most beautiful...If the rays of the sun fell on his neck, it appeared like a cup of silver mixed with gold... The place between his shoulders was wide.
Anas bin Malik (ra) says:
"The Messenger of Allah, was not excessively tall or short. He was not very pallid nor dark. He did not have curly hair or lank hair. Allah commissioned him at the age of forty. He stayed in Mecca ten years and at Medina for ten years and Allah the Mighty, the Majestic made him die when he was sixty. There were not twenty white hairs in his hair or beard, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.

Baraa bin Aazib (ra) relates:
"I never saw someone more handsome than Rasullullah. His hair reached his shoulders. The portion between his two shoulders was wide. He was neither very tall nor very short.
Ibrahim b. Muhammed (ra), one of the grandsons of Ali (ra), informs us:
"When Ali (ra) described the Prophet (saas) he said:
'He was neither very tall nor excessively short, but was a man of medium size. He had neither very curly nor flowing hair but a mixture of both... He was reddish-white, he had wide black eyes and long eyelashes. He had protruding joints and shoulder-blades... Between his shoulders was the seal of prophecy... He had a finer chest than anyone else, was truer in utterance than anyone else, had the gentlest nature and the noblest lineage. Those who saw him stood suddenly in awe of him and those who shared his acquaintance loved him. Those who described him said they had never seen anyone like him before or since'.

Hassan (ra) says:
"He had great qualities and attributes, others also held him in high esteem. His blessed face shone like the full moon. He was slightly taller than a man of middle height, but shorter than a tall person...His blessed hair was slightly twisted. If his hair became parted naturally in the middle he left it so, otherwise he did not habitually make an effort to part his hair in the middle...Rasulullah (saas) had a very luminous complexion (color), and a wide forehead. His eye brows were of dense and fine hair ...
... His neck was beautiful and thin, like the neck of a statue shaved clean, the color of which was clear, shining and beautiful like silver. All the parts of his body were of moderate size. His body was proportionately jointed..."73
Abu Huraira (ra) describes:
"The complexion of Rasulullah (saas) was white with redness in it. The blessed eyes of Rasulullah (saas) were extremely black. His eyelashes were long.
"His forehead was wide and the place between his eyebrows was bright like pure silver and eyes were black tinged with reddish hue. The hairs of his eye lashes were profuse... When he smiled or laughed, they (his teeth) shone like lightning. His lip was most beautiful...His beard was thick...His neck was most beautiful, neither long, nor short. If the rays of the sun fell on his neck, it appeared like a cup of silver mixed with gold. His chest was broad. It was even like a mirror and white like the moon light... His shoulders were wide. His palms were softer than wool." ir 8 a k 4 4 lah commissioned him at the age of forty. He stayed in Mecca ten years and at Medina for ten years and Allah the Mighty, the Majestic made him die when he was sixty. Umm Ma'bad (ra), who was known for her generosity, uprightness and courage, was visited by the Prophet (saas) during the Prophet (saas)'s migration from Mecca to Medina, but failed to recognize him. However, she described him to her husband, who recognized the Prophet (saas) from her description:
"He was innocently bright and had a broad countenance. His manners were fine... He had black attractive eyes... His hair glossy and black, inclined to curl, he wore long. His voice was very commanding. His head was well formed and set on a slender neck. His expression was pensive and contemplative, serene and sublime. The stranger was fascinated from the distance, but no sooner he became intimate with him, than this fascination was changed into attachment and respect. His expression was very sweet and distinct. His speech was well set and free from the use of superfluous words, as if it were rosary of beads. His stature was neither too high nor too small. He was singularly bright and fresh. He was always surrounded by his Companions. Whenever he uttered something, the listeners would hear him with rapt attention and whenever he issued a commandment, they vied with each other in carrying it out. He was a master and a commander."76
As we can discern from those who saw him in person, the Prophet (saas) was extraordinarily handsome, with a finely proportioned body and a face that took one's breath away. He also had a very athletic and powerful build.

The Prophet (saas)'s appearance

Ahmet Cevdet Pasha, an important scholar from Ottoman times, wrote a study that effectively summarized descriptions of the Prophet (saas)'s features. That appeared in Part IV of the Qisas al-Anbiya (Stories of the Prophets), under the heading "Some Attributes of the Prophet Muhammad (saas)":
"The blessed one had a beautiful appearance, his limbs were in perfect proportion, his body was well-formed, his forehead and chest and the distance between his shoulders were broad. His neck was slender and pure as silver, his shoulders, biceps and calves were large and thick, his wrists were long, his fingers also long, and his hands and fingers rather thick. His blessed skin was softer than silk.
On his perfect countenance were a well-proportioned head, curved eyebrows, a long nose and an oval face.
His eyelashes were long, his eyes black and beautiful, the space between his largish eyebrows was clear, though his eyebrows were close together.
That chosen Prophet (saas) was shining in appearance. In other words, he was neither light nor dark, but somewhere between the two, white like a red rose, light and limpid, and the light shone from his face. His teeth were as white as pearls and bright, and the light gleamed from his front teeth as he spoke. When he laughed, it was as if his mouth gave off rays like soft lightning...
His senses were exceedingly powerful. He could hear from a long way off and see further than anyone. In essence, he had a body formed in perfection and uniqueness, and blessed ... Anyone suddenly seeing him would be consumed with love, and anyone speaking with him would feel great love in his heart and soul. The wise respected him in accordance with their degree. He greatly honoured his relatives. He would not, however, treat them better than those more worthy than them.
He treated his servants well. Whatever he wore or ate, he would give to them to wear and eat.
He was generous, beneficial, compassionate, forgiving, brave and mild. In speech, he kept to his word. In essence, his excellent morality, sharp powers of reasoning were greater than those of all other people and worthy of great praise

The Prophet (saas)'s hair
There are different descriptions of the length of the Prophet (saas)'s hair. It is natural that there should be discrepancies between them, as the people these accounts have come down from saw him at different times, when his hair may have been of different lengths. Yet, what can be recognized from these descriptions was that the Prophet (saas)'s hair was at ear-level at its shortest and at shoulder-length at its longest.
Anas bin Malik (ra) recalls :
"The hair of Rasulullah (saas) reached till half of his ears."
Aisha (ra) reports:
"The blessed hair of Rasulullah (saas) was longer than those that reached the ear lobes, and shorter than those that reached the shoulders."
Baraa bin Aazib (ra) says:
"Rasulullah (saas) was of average height, and the portion between the two shoulders was wide. His hair reached his ear lobes."
Umm Haani, the daughter of Abu Taalib (ra) offers the following description:
"Rasulullah (saas) came to Mecca once after the hijrah (migration). His blessed hair had four plaits."

The grooming of the Prophet (saas)'s hair and beard

The Prophet (saas) attached the greatest importance to cleanliness, and therefore, to his hair and beard too. It is reported in some sources that he always carried with him a comb, mirror, miswak (a small natural toothbrush), tooth-pick, scissors and a kuhl bottle.88 The Prophet (saas) advised his companions to do the same, and said: "He who has hair should honor it."89 Some other reports that have reached us of his hair and beard are:
Hassan (ra) said:
"He had a thick, dense beard."90
Anas bin Malik (ra) reports:
"Sayyidina Rasulullah (saas) often rubbed oil in his head..."91
Simak bin Harb (ra) reports:
"Jaabir bin Samurah (ra) was asked a question regarding the white hair of Rasulullah He replied: 'When Rasulullah (saas) oiled his hair, it (white hair) did not show. When he did not oil it, it showed'."92
The Prophet (saas) set an example for the believers with the importance he attached to his appearance and cleanliness. One account describes the Prophet (saas)'s attitude to such matters:
"The Prophet (saas) once intended to go to his companions and so he put on his turban and dressed his hairs...He said: 'Yes, Allah loves the actions of His servant who refines his body in order to meet his friends and brothers'."93

The Prophet (saas)'s manner of dress
His companions have handed down a great many details about the Prophet (saas)'s manner of dress. In addition to these, the Prophet (saas)'s advice to the believers about how they should dress reveal the importance he attached to this subject. For example, one hadith reports him as saying:
"No one who has even an atom's-weight of pride in his heart will enter Paradise." A man asked him, "What if he likes his clothes and shoes to look good?" (Meaning, is this counted as pride?) The Prophet (saas) said: "Allah is beautiful and loves beauty. Pride means denying the truth and looking down on other people."94
He regarded dressing well and looking good as a demonstration of the blessings of Allah:
"Allah loves to see the result of His blessing on His creatures."95
Jundub ibn Makith (r.a.) said:
"Whenever a delegation came to meet the Messenger of Allah, he would wear his best clothes and order his leading Companions to do likewise. I saw the Prophet (saas) on the day that the delegation of Kindah came to meet him; he was wearing a Yemeni garment, and Abu Bakr and 'Umar were dressed similarly."96
Another hadith relates:
"Eat what you like, and wear what you like provided that it is free from two things : extravagance and vainglory."97
The Prophet (saas) would immediately warn any of his companions who were unkempt or failed to care for their appearance. One story on the subject is from 'Ata 'ibn Yassar (ra):
"The Messenger of Allah was in the mosque, when a man with unkempt hair and an untidy beard came in. The Prophet (saas) pointed to him, as if indicating to him that he should tidy up his hair and beard. The man went and did so, then returned. The Prophet (saas) said, 'Is this not better than that any one of you should come with unkempt hair?'"98
According to the hadith narrated by one of the companions of the Prophet (saas), the Prophet (saas) told his Companions, when they were travelling to meet some brothers in faith:
"You are going to visit your brothers, so repair your saddles and make sure that you are dressed well, so that you will stand out among people like an adornment, for Allah does not love ugliness."99
Some of the information that was conveyed through the inner circle of the Prophet (saas) about his clothing are below:
Umar (ra) relates:
"I saw the Messenger of Allah (saas) ask for a new garment. He put it on, and when it reached his knees he said, 'Praise be to Allah, Who has given me clothes with which to cover myself and make myself look beautiful in this life.'"100
Umm Salama (ra) reports that:
"The Holy Prophet (saas) liked kurta (long shirt) most."101
Qurrah bin Ilyaas (ra) describes:
"I came with a group from the tribe of Muzeenah to pay allegiance to Rasulullah (saas). The button loop of Rasulullah (saas) was open."
Al-Bara' ibn 'Azib (ra) states:
"I have never seen someone with long hair and red clothing more handsome than Rasullullah (saas). His hair reached his shoulders."
Another report comes from Fazl ibn Abbas (ra):
"The Holy Prophet (saas) said: 'Adopt white clothes; it is the best attire.'"
Aisha (ra) reported that:
"Allah's Apostle (saas) went out one morning wearing a cloak made of (camel's or sheep's) black hair with patterns of camel saddles upon it."

The Prophet (saas)'s outdoor clothes
Ubayd bin Khaalid (ra) reports that:
"I was once going to Madina. I heard a person from behind me say: 'Wear your lungi (loose dress) higher because it avoids physical and spiritual impurities.' (The lungi will remain cleaner and will not become dirty by being dragged on the ground.) When I turned to see who was talking I saw that it was Rasulullah (saas)."
Salamah bin Akwa (ra) informs us that:
"Uthmaan (ra) wore his lungi till the middle of his shin and said: 'This is how my master Rasulullah (saas) wore his lungi.'"

The Prophet (saas)'s ring and seal

Anas bin Malik (ra) says:
"Rasulullah (saas) had a ring made of silver and its (inlaid) gem was also silver.

When the Prophet (saas) wanted to write to the leaders of foreign states, he ordered a seal-ring to be made.
"Rasullullah (saas) therefore had a ring made, the whiteness of which is still before my eyes."109
"The inscription engraved on the ring of Rasulullah (saas) was 'Muhammad Rasulullah,' of which in the first line was engraved 'Muhammad,' in the second line 'Rasul,' and in the third line 'Allah'."110

The Prophet (saas)'s manner of walking
Abu Huraira (ra) reports:
"I did not see anyone more handsome than Rasulullah (saas). It was as if the brightness of the sun had shone from his blessed face. I did not see anyone walk faster than him, as is the earth folded for him. A few moments ago he would be here, and then there. We found it difficult to keep pace when we walked with him and he walked at his normal pace."111
One of Ali (ra)'s grandchildren, Ibrahim bin Muhammad (ra), says that the Prophet (saas) had an easy manner of walking:
When 'Ali (ra) described Rasulullah (saas), he used to say: 'When he walked, because of the speed and force of the legs, it seemed as if he was descending from a high place'."112
Hassan (ra) describes how:
"When he walked, he lifted his legs with vigour, leaned, slightly forward and placed his feet softly on the ground. He walked at a quick pace and took a rather long step. He did not take small steps. When he walked it seemed as if he was descending to a lower place. When he looked at something, he turned his whole body towards it. He always looked down. His blessed glance was focused more to the ground than towards the sky. His noble habit was to look at something with a slight glance. He made salaam (greeted) first to whomsoever he met."113
The Prophet (saas)'s manner of sitting
Qaylah bint Makhramah (ra) reports:
"I saw Rasulullah (saas) in the masjid (in a very humble posture) sitting. Due to his awe-inspiring personality, I began shivering."114
Jaabir bin Samurah (ra) says:
"I observed Rasulullah (saas) lean on a pillow, which was on his left side."115

The Prophet (saas)'s way of speaking
The Prophet (saas) was a man known for his effective, wise and concise manner of speaking. His messages had a great effect on people, and everyone took great pleasure in talking with him. A number of accounts that have come down from his companions also confirm that fact. These are some of them:
"The Prophet (saas) was the greatest of the Arabs in oratory and beauty of speech. He said: 'I am the greatest orator among the Arabs'."116
Aisha (ra) describes the Prophet (saas)'s way of speaking thus:
"The speech of Rasulullah (saas) was not quick and continuous as that of yours. He spoke clearly, word by word."117
"They said: 'The Messenger of Allah used to talk little and every thing was expressed in this brief talk. In his speech, there was no defect of excess or brevity. The words came one after another like pearls. Whoever heard them remembered them. He was the sweetest in talk among his companions. He used to keep silent for long and not talk without necessity. He used not to talk evil words and what he talked was just."118
"He did not use ornamental words...."119
"... His companions did never dispute before him."120
"He used to smile much before his companions..."121

Aisha (ra) again says:
"He spoke in such a way that the words were spaced out so that those who sat with him remembered them."122
Abdullah bin Haarith (ra) reports that:
"I have not seen anyone who makes a person more cheerful than Rasulullah (saas)."123
Anas bin Malik (ra) tells us the following:
"Rasulullah (saas) used to mingle with us and joke."124

The Prophet (saas)'s pleasing scent
The Prophet (saas) attached great importance to cleanliness. He always smelt very fresh, clean and pleasant, and recommended that Muslims do the same. Accounts that have reached us from his companions give further details of this aspect of the Prophet (saas):
Jaabir bin Samura (ra) states:
"Whenever the Holy Prophet tread on any path, when someone passed by later, that they could recognize that the prophet had passed by there because they could smell the fragrance of his body."125
From Anas bin Malik (ra):
"I never felt a silk cloth, nor pure silk, nor any other thing softer than the palm of Rasulullah (saas). Nor did I smell any musk or any other fragrance, more sweet smelling than the fragrance of Rasullullah (saas)."126
Anas bin Malik (r.a) reports:
"I never smelt ambergris or musk as fragrant as the fragrance of the body of Allah's Messenger (saas) and I never touched brocade or silk and found it as soft as the body of Allah's Messenger (saas)."127
In Qisas al-Anbiya, the Prophet (saas) was described in this way:
"His body was clean and his scent beautiful. Whether or not he had used scent, his skin always had a lovely scent to it. If someone shook hands or conversed with him, or showed his friendship or affection, he would smell that clean scent all day, and if he laid that sacred hand on a child's head, that child could be distinguished from other children by that clean scent."128

The Prophet (saas)'s favorite foods
"He used not to take any hot food."129
"Meat was his most favorite curry."130
"The Holy Prophet (saas), amongst all other foods, liked pumpkin."131
"He used to eat the meat of hunted birds."132

He liked dried dates among dates."133
Aisha (ra) had this to say about the food the Prophet (saas) enjoyed:
"Rasulullah (saas) loved halva and honey."134
"Among foods, he liked mutton, broth, pumpkins, sweet things, honey, dates, milk, cream, melons, grapes and cucumbers. He also liked cold water."135
She adds:
"Rasulullah (saas) ate watermelon with fresh dates."136
"He never condemned the food. He used to eat what he liked and did not eat what he did not like."137
"Rasulullah (saas) loved the meat of the forequarter."138
These are some of the things the Prophet (saas) said about certain foods:
"What a nice curry vinegar is."139
"The Prophet (saas) said that mushroom is a good cure for the eyes, it also arrests paralysis."140
"Illnesses are cured by means of three things: (one of them) is a drink of honey."141
"Use olive oil as a food and ointment for it comes from a blessed tree."142

What the Prophet (saas) liked to drink
Aisha tells us that:
"The drink most liked by Rasulullah (saas) was that which was sweet and cold."143
"Nabeez was prepared from dried grapes for the Prophet (saas) and dates were, also, put in it, or it was prepared from dried dates, and grapes, too, were put in it. "144
"The best of drinks to the Messenger of Allah was sweet cold drink."145
"The Holy Prophet (saas) said; besides milk there is nothing else that serves the purpose of both milk and water."146
This is what the Prophet (saas) had to say about milk:
"When one of you eats food, he should say: 'O Allah, bless us in it, and give us food (or nourishment) better than it.' When he is given milk to drink he should say: 'O Allah! Bless us in it and give us more of it, for no food or drink satisfies like milk'."147

What the Prophet (saas) said about water

The Prophet (saas) took great care to distribute water, particularly on journeys. On one particular journey, for instance, he stopped somewhere and asked for water from those around him. After washing his hands and face, he drank from the water, and told his companions; "pour some of its water on your faces and chests."148
After drinking water, he prayed:
"All praise is due to Allah Who has made it delicious and sweet by His grace and has not made it either salty or unsavory."149
On another occasion, the Prophet (saas) said:
"Water was created pure and nothing makes it impure except that which changes its color, taste and smell."150

Some of the Prophet (saas)'s finer traits
Imam Ghazzali, known as "Hujjatul Islam," collected and set out some of the Prophet (saas)'s traits as related by such great Islamic scholars as Tirmidhi, Tabarani, Muslim, Imam Ahmad, Abu Dawood and Ibn Maja:
